Platform Council Aiming to Realize Future Education by 2020 Through ICT Infrastructure Development
"ICT CONNECT 21 ~ Future Learning Co-creation Conference ~" Launched
On February 2, the "ICT CONNECT21 ~ Future Learning Co-creation Council ~" was established. This council aims to set standards for technology and other aspects to promote the spread and advancement of ICT in education.
The founding members include six education-related companies (Uchida Yoko, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone, KDDI, Benesse Holdings, SoftBank, Gakken Holdings) and nine organizations such as the Japan Education Information Technology Promotion Association and the e-Learning Award Forum Secretariat.
This council brings together a wide range of organizations, companies, and experts involved in education. Working in collaboration with government ministries and agencies, it will develop standards for technology, systems, and operations related to ICT learning and education. Through standardization and open platform initiatives, it aims to promote the distribution and utilization of educational content and ICT services, thereby enhancing convenience for both users and service providers. Its purpose is to contribute to societal development by realizing an environment where anyone can access diverse learning and educational services anytime, anywhere.
