The Corporate Mécénat Council will hold an international conference in Osaka on March 7 and 8.
The theme is "Culture is Capital: The Creative Economy and Social Innovation."
The Corporate Patronage Council will hold an international conference in Osaka City on March 7 and 8 under the theme "Culture is Capital: Creative Economy and Social Creation." This is part of the council's 25th-anniversary commemorative events. Artists, leaders of cultural institutions, researchers, and corporate executives from Japan and abroad will engage in discussions.
On the 7th, three sessions will be held at the Creative Center Osaka in Suminoe Ward: "The Current State of Corporate Mecenat Worldwide," "The Value of Art, the Value of Culture," and "The Creative Economy." On the 8th, the conference moves to the Matsushita IMP Hall in Osaka Business Park, Chuo Ward. Special lectures will be given by Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang on "Creating Society Through Culture" and Mr. Takeo Obayashi of Obayashi Corporation on "Economy and Culture, Management and Culture." Activity presentations and panel discussions will also take place.
Participation fee is ¥1,000 for both days (free for council members). Capacity is 100 people on the 7th and 350 people on the 8th.
