On March 20, the Tokyo Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games signed sponsorship agreements with two companies, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance and Nippon Life Insurance, making both "Tokyo 2020 Gold Partners. "
Both companies have previously supported athletes, including members of the Japanese national team, and sports as Gold Partners of the JOC (Japan Olympic Committee).
The Tokyo 2020 Sponsorship Program is a six-year domestic partnership agreement covering the Japanese Olympic and Paralympic teams, including the 2020 Tokyo Games. Partners hold rights such as the use of the Games name and emblem. The program has three tiers, with Gold Partners occupying the highest domestic level. Including these two companies, a total of eight Gold Partners have been confirmed.
Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance's contract category is "Non-life Insurance."Its President, Takeshi Nagano, commented, "As a partner, we aim to contribute to realizing a safe and secure Games by providing support for various risk management needs and offering non-life insurance products."
Nippon Life's category is "Life Insurance."President Yoshinobu Tsutsui commented, "We hope the Tokyo Games will become a symbol of creating a bright future for Japan. We will strive to promote the Olympic and Paralympic Movement with our approximately 70,000 employees."
Organizing Committee Chairman Yoshiro Mori expressed his thoughts on this decision, stating, "This is very encouraging."
