Taiwanese women are also encouraged to enjoy traveling in Tohoku. Mind Palette has launched the "GO TO TOHOKU" tourism campaign for the six prefectures of Tohoku through its self-developed and operated smartphone photo-sharing application "Snapeee." This was reported by NNA, which distributes economic and business information in Asia.
The campaign was jointly planned with Japan Airlines' Taipei and Kaohsiung branches, H.I.S. Taiwan's San Ken Travel Agency, the Japan Tourism Association's Tohoku Branch, and the six Tohoku prefectures. Users can enter a lottery for prizes like round-trip air tickets between Japan and Taiwan by either answering photo-selection questions in the survey section of a dedicated website or posting Japan-related images to the campaign's dedicated "GO TO TOHOKU" channel on Snapeee. The campaign runs until April 30.
A Mind Palette spokesperson told NNA, "We're energizing the campaign with initiatives like Taiwanese illustrators creating stamps themed on the Tohoku region and popular Taiwanese bloggers promoting it on their blogs. User submissions have been pouring in since the launch on April 1st." Through this survey, the company aims to identify and quantify potential tourism needs, such as what Taiwanese women seek in Japan travel and their interests in specific tourist resources. The participating companies and organizations plan to utilize this data to develop their own package tours and tourism promotion events.
Snappy allows users to edit photos taken with their smartphones using stamps and frames, and share them with other users. It supports multiple languages and, as of April 6, had approximately 10.6 million registered users worldwide. Among these, Taiwan ranks fourth by country/region (approximately 1.52 million users), following Japan, China, and Thailand. Mind Palette established a representative office in Taipei last May.
