The 68th Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards Decided ― Panasonic Corporation Wins the Grand Prize ―

The winners of the 68th Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards were announced, with Panasonic Corporation selected for the Grand Prix. This marks Panasonic Corporation's first win as an independent entity, and its 31st win overall counting from its predecessor, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., after a seven-year gap.

On May 29th, the final selection committee meeting of the Advertising Dentsu Inc. Awards Council was held at the Imperial Hotel in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. The "Advertising Dentsu Award," "Grand Prize," and "Excellence Award" for newspapers, magazines, radio, television, outdoor, and digital media, along with the "Advertising Dentsu Award," "Excellence Award," and "Integrated Campaign Award" for promotions and the "Regional Advertising Award" and "Regional Advertising Runner-up Award" for the Nagoya, Kyushu, and Hokkaido regions, as detailed in the attached document. Finally, the Grand Dentsu Inc. Advertising Award was decided. The advertising works eligible for selection this year were those implemented between April 1, 2014, and March 31, 2015. A total of 1,467 entries were submitted to the Selection Committee, with 363 works advancing to the final selection.

Regional preliminaries were held in five regions—Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyushu, and Hokkaido—in April this year. Winning entries were selected from the preliminary qualifiers at the final judging session held in Tokyo from May 25 to 28. These were then presented to the final judging committee meeting on May 29, resulting in the selection of 61 award winners.

Panasonic Corporation, awarded the Grand Prix in the Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards, received the Dentsu Inc. Advertising Award in the "Radio" and "Outdoor" categories. It also won the Grand Prize in "Newspaper" and "Magazine," and received Excellence Awards in "Newspaper," "TV," and "Outdoor." This recognition highlights the company's outstanding achievements across its entire advertising activities.

The Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards in other categories were won by: IHI Corporation for the Newspaper Advertising Dentsu Inc. Award; Suntory Holdings Limited for the Magazine Advertising Dentsu Inc. Award; POLA Inc. for the Television Advertising Dentsu Inc. Award; 3M Japan Co., Ltd. for the Digital Advertising Dentsu Inc. Award; and Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. for the Promotional Advertising Dentsu Inc. Award. Additionally, the Integrated Campaign Award was won by Kirin Beverage Co., Ltd. and Ezaki Glico Co., Ltd.

The awards ceremony will be held on July 1 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa International Hall Pamir in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
Furthermore, the winning entries will be exhibited at the "Ad Museum Tokyo" in Shiodome, Tokyo, from August 6 to September 26.

〈About the Dentsu Advertising Awards〉
Established in December 1947 (Showa 22), the Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards annually recognize advertisers who demonstrated outstanding advertising planning and technical skills in works executed during the year, contributing to the advancement of advertising activities. Highly regarded as Japan's only annual comprehensive advertising award, it is said that "the history of the Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards is the history of post-war Japanese advertising creativity." Selection is conducted by 497 judges participating in the nationally organized independent body, the Dentsu Advertising Awards Council (Chairman: Takashi Imai). The Selection Committee in each region is composed primarily of advertisers, media companies, producers, academics, and cultural figures.
