Time Out Tokyo launched its free quarterly English-language magazine, Time Out Tokyo Magazine, on October 29th. This Tokyo edition of the city guide Time Out, headquartered in London and published in 35 countries worldwide, will be issued four times a year. It will be distributed free of charge at over 300 locations, primarily in Tokyo, including airports, tourist information centers, major subway stations, shops, cafes, restaurants, and hotels. The magazine is A4 size, 84 pages in English, with a print run of 100,000 copies.
The inaugural issue's lead feature, "50 REASONS TOKYO IS THE GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD," includes comments on Tokyo's appeal from Tokyo Governor Naoki Inose and fencer Yuki Ota. Other content includes a collaboration with the "Tokyo Ga" art project, where 100 photographers from Japan and abroad created works themed around Tokyo, plus guides to the latest shops, restaurants, and cafes.
Furthermore, a special bilingual website featuring the feature articles in both Japanese and English will be launched on the Time Out Tokyo website ( www.timeout.jp ). The magazine will incorporate mechanisms to connect with its global network through social media.
