Dentsu Inc. Transforms Open Innovation Site "COTAS" into DENTSU SOKEN INC.'s Owned Media

On October 30, Dentsu Inc. announced a full relaunch of "COTAS" ( http://cotas.jp/), operated since June 2012 as an "Open Innovation Information Site," as an owned media platform under DENTSU SOKEN INC. Going forward, it aims to become a "culture media where you can discover the future" by creating spaces where diverse and disparate individuals can interact.

Until now, COTAS has connected various organizations and individuals online and offline, creating new value by introducing domestic and international case studies related to Co-Creation and Collaboration – new approaches to corporate open innovation. While the importance of identifying seeds for new business ventures and creating yet-to-emerge markets continues to grow within companies, three years after COTAS's launch, innovation increasingly originates not only from corporations or organizations, but also from "individuals" at the forefront of culture.

DENTSU SOKEN INC. has redefined the "CO" in the new "COTAS" as "individual." We have appointed young employees with unique and strong personalities as editors (Creative Researchers). We will peer into the future as seen by these "individuals" at the forefront of culture and deliver information that can spark innovation to our readers.

The fields we cover will be the three areas demanding creative qualities: academia, business, and entertainment. By identifying the "CO (individuals)" leading the cutting edge of culture in these three fields and becoming a "TAS (add)" space where they freely interact, we will uncover hints for the future. Furthermore, we aim to evolve beyond mere information dissemination into a co-creation media platform that also undertakes new product development and service creation.

Furthermore, with the support of Amana, a visual communication company, "COTAS" will also challenge the possibilities of new visual communication.
