Collaborating with Dentsu Inc. and LinkedIn Inc. in the U.S. on business development utilizing user data

Dentsu Inc. announced on March 1st that it has agreed to collaborate with LinkedIn Corporation (LinkedIn) in the United States. To support the marketing activities of globalizing Japanese companies, they will develop new business utilizing user data held by LinkedIn, the business-focused social networking service with over 400 million registered users worldwide.

This collaboration stems from the growing need among Japanese companies expanding globally to identify key decision-makers and approach them efficiently, particularly in B2B communications, to drive revenue growth.

Given this context, Dentsu Inc. has decided to collaborate with LinkedIn, which operates a business-focused social networking service, to analyze and provide client companies with data and insights derived from LinkedIn usage, in addition to target attributes such as industry, company size, job roles within the company, and job level.

Specifically, by conducting customized surveys on the LinkedIn platform for each client company and analyzing the online behavior and content consumption trends of specific target attributes, Dentsu will identify challenges in B2B communication and provide solutions to address them.

Moving forward, Dentsu Inc. and LinkedIn will jointly advance new business development, ranging from surveys, data analysis, and report creation utilizing LinkedIn user data to the realization of highly accurate ad delivery targeting specific audiences.

Moving forward, Dentsu Inc. and LinkedIn will jointly advance new business development, ranging from surveys, data analysis, and report creation utilizing LinkedIn user data to achieving highly accurate ad delivery targeting specific audiences.

Prior to this collaboration, both companies conducted a "Survey on Corporate IT Purchasing Processes" from May to November 2015 across 11 countries and regions (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Germany, India, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brazil) to explore the composition and members of purchasing committees, as well as the information sources referenced in the increasingly complex IT solution purchasing processes within each company. The survey revealed three key findings: ① Acquiring new customers presents a high hurdle for IT companies, requiring long-term commitment; ② Multiple business departments are involved in IT purchasing decisions; ③ Establishing customer pathways and preparing information/content are crucial for business expansion.
