Ezaki Glico has appointed actress Kazue Fukiishi as the new image character for its "Papico" ice cream and began airing the new TV commercial "Spot the Difference" on May 21.
Papico is a long-selling product that has been loved for over 40 years since its launch in 1975. This commercial focuses on the often-misunderstood "texture of Papico," emphasizing and depicting just one mistake within the commercial.
Ms. Fukiishi, dressed up, steps out of a limousine and gracefully ascends a marble staircase. Her destination is a luxurious refrigerator. Inside are many Papicos, neatly arranged.
She sits on the sofa, intending to eat it elegantly, but the Papico seems hard, so she takes a big bite.
The narration, "The crunchy texture of Papico..." is cut off, and a superimposed text appears: "〈Papico is crunchy〉 is incorrect." The content informs viewers that Papico's texture is smooth, and the comical expression of Ms. Fukiishi, playing the role of a young lady of the house, wrestling with the Papico is amusing.

Sequels to this commercial will air sequentially, with the number of mistakes depicted increasing as the episodes progress.
It's a series we look forward to seeing what tricks it has in store.
