The New York Festivals 2016 Torch Awards ceremony was held on May 19 in New York City, USA , where Dentsu Inc .'s creative team* won the Grand Prix. This marks the second consecutive year they have received the Grand Prix, following their win in 2015.
The Torch Awards, established in 2014 to discover and nurture talent among young creators aged 18 to 27, this year challenged participants to digitally express "Progress in Inclusive Design."
Inclusive design is a methodology that actively involves individuals with special needs—such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and foreigners—from the initial stages of design and development, incorporating insights gained through dialogue and observation into the design.
*The team included members who were students at the time of entry. That student joined the Korean advertising agency "Cheil Worldwide" in April 2016.
