On June 7, Dentsu Inc.'s overseas headquarters, Dentsu Aegis Network, announced it had reached an agreement with shareholders of Scorch Pty Ltd, a leading Australian digital marketing agency, to acquire a 51% stake in the company. The agreement also grants the Dentsu Group an option to make Scorch a wholly-owned subsidiary in the future.
Founded in 2006, Scorch is headquartered in Melbourne, with offices in Sydney and Manila, Philippines. The company employs 50 people and provides digital marketing services in the performance marketing domain, including Search Engine Optimization (SEO), targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across these locations. Its services also encompass advertising and website design, content creation, social media marketing, email marketing, and data analytics.
Following the acquisition, Dentsu Aegis Network will integrate Scorch into the iProspect network, one of the Dentsu Group's nine global network brands, which operates a similar digital marketing business. The brand name will be Scorch iProspect, and synergies will be created through collaboration with group companies.
