At the 63rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity
Dentsu Group wins 31 awards, including the Grand Prix for Dentsu Inc.'s design division
Also involved in 32 award-winning works as a media agency
At the 63rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity* (Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2016) held in Cannes, France, the Dentsu Group won a total of 31 awards, including the Grand Prix in Dentsu Inc.'s design category.
The festival comprised four events: ① the International Creativity Festival (June 18-25), ② the Lions Health Festival (June 18-19), ③ the Lions Innovation Festival (June 21-22), ④ the newly established Lions Entertainment Festival (June 23-24). The festival as a whole received 43,101 entries from approximately 90 countries and regions.
The number of awards won by the Dentsu Group at this festival is as follows:
① International Creativity Festival (25 awards total)
・Cyber Division (2 Silver, 1 Bronze)
・Design Division (1 Grand Prix, 1 Gold, 6 Silver, 1 Bronze)
・Direct Division (1 Bronze)
・Film Category (1 Silver)
・Film Craft Category (1 Bronze)
・Media Division (Silver Award 1, Bronze Award 1)
・Mobile Category (Silver Award 1, Bronze Award 1)

② Lions Health Festival (3 awards total)

The Grand Prix in the Design category went to "Life is electric" (Panasonic Corporation), while the Gold Award in the same category was awarded to "World Table Tennis 2015" (TV Tokyo Corporation).

In addition, media agencies within the Dentsu Group were involved in a total of 32 award-winning entries (1 Grand Prix, 8 Gold Awards, 13 Silver Awards, 10 Bronze Awards).
*The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity began as a competition for theatrical advertising films within the Cannes Film Festival. It became an independent event in 1954. Due to its scale, jury composition, and the high caliber of winning entries, it is highly regarded among international advertising awards.
