AICHI AD AWARDS 2016 Winning Entries Announced

The association has hosted the "Aichi Advertising Association Award" for 39 consecutive years, aiming to elevate the level of advertising creators within the prefecture and foster collaboration and development. Marking its 40th anniversary in 2015, the award underwent a renewal, launching as the "AICHI AD AWARDS (AAA)" – an advertising award "by creators, for creators."

Five categories were established: "TV Commercials," "Graphic Design," "Digital," "Design," and "Promotion/OOH." This year saw 257 entries. A panel of six renowned creators, chaired by Director Shinya Nakajima of Tohoku Shinsha, judged the submissions.

The Grand Prix was awarded to Shachihata's web movie "Failing at 50" (Dentsu Inc. Chubu Branch). This special movie, created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the company's X Stamper self-inking stamp, features a somewhat unremarkable office worker as its protagonist. Personified name stamps play the roles of characters. The story reflects on the protagonist's life from youth to the present, culminating in a heartwarming conclusion.

Chairperson Nakajima commented on the Grand Prix winner: "You can sense the attitude of enjoying the creative process together with the client. Both the creative team and the client share the desire to 'move viewers' hearts and bring them happiness' and 'properly introduce the product so people will like it.' It offered a glimpse of beautiful work."

The "AICHI AD AWARDS 2016 Outstanding Advertising Works Exhibition" was held at the International Design Gallery in Naka Ward, Nagoya, from July 13th to 18th. The awards ceremony took place during the opening party on the first day.
