The Osaka Copywriters Club (OCC) recently announced the winners of the 2016 OCC Awards. Established in 1955, the OCC is an Osaka-based fellowship for copywriters dedicated to advancing advertising expression techniques.
The award judges selected winning entries from submissions of advertising materials broadcast, published, or used in 2015. A total of 1,019 entries were submitted. From the 728 entries in the General Division, one Grand Prix, one Runner-up Grand Prix, one MOP (Chairman's Award), and 11 OCC Awards were selected. From the 291 entries in the Newcomer Division, one Best Newcomer Award and eight Newcomer Awards were selected.
For its 49th edition in 2016, the awards focused on evaluating not just copywriting but also creative ideas encompassing expression and mechanisms to address the diversifying needs for advertising amid changing times. Winning and nominated works will be compiled and published in the OCC Yearbook. An awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in Osaka City in November.
