An event commemorating the worldwide simultaneous release of the latest "Final Fantasy" series title, "Final Fantasy XV," was held on the release date, November 29, at the Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba Event Space in Akihabara, Tokyo.

Since the first title was released by Square Enix in 1987, the series has surpassed 100 million units shipped worldwide.
This "Final Fantasy XV," released six years after the previous installment in 2010, offers players an unprecedented sense of immersion. This is achieved not only through its overwhelming worldview and graphics, born from the fusion of realism and fantasy, but also through the adoption of a seamless open world and the introduction of exhilarating, action-packed battles.
At the launch event, Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda addressed the eager fans who had lined up for hours: "Final Fantasy XV is our flagship title, embodying the pinnacle of our creative and technical prowess. It launches worldwide today, and we've already received overwhelmingly positive feedback from international critics and reviewers. I am confident you will all enjoy it immensely."

Next, Director Tabata stated, "It's been about 30 years since the first game, and games have evolved. However, there are parts of Final Fantasy that remain unchanged even after 30 years. That is the player's ability to experience the protagonist's journey. The story experience for the player is the most important element for a game. We developed Final Fantasy XV with that as our top priority. We want everyone to fully enjoy that protagonist's experience."
Following this, guests took the stage: voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who voices the protagonist Noctis; voice actress Rina Kitagawa, who voices the heroine Lunafreya; comedians Mizuki Nishimura and Eiji Kotoge from the duo Viking; and actress Erina Mano.
Joined by Director Tabata, they passionately discussed their feelings about "Final Fantasy" and their expectations for this title, sharing perspectives from both the production side and fans who enjoy the games.
During the main ceremony event, fans at the front of the line were invited onto the stage. Together with the panelists and all the gathered fans, they counted down to the release. The venue's energy surged instantly, erupting in loud cheers from fans eagerly awaiting the launch.
