Hinokiya Holdings, which operates custom home building and real estate businesses, held a product presentation for its new heating and cooling system "Z Air Conditioning" and a new commercial launch event at Bellesalle Roppongi in Minato Ward, Tokyo, on December 1st.
At the outset, President Akira Kondo explained the development background of the new system. He noted that Japanese homes tend to be colder in winter compared to Western homes, and expressed the desire to create a home that is warm anytime, anywhere. He explained that Z Air Conditioning solves the issues of conventional whole-house air conditioning systems, such as high installation costs, high electricity bills, and large equipment size. For a typical two-story home, just two air conditioners can maintain a comfortable temperature year-round, anywhere in the house. He also presented winter and summer test results from the experimental building, demonstrating confidence in its performance. While Z Air Conditioning will initially be equipped exclusively in the company's own homes, external sales are planned eventually. The target is to install it in 10,000 homes annually by 2020.
Actor Takumi Saito, dressed as the CM character "Zekkucho," appeared on stage.
Two TV commercials—"Z Air Conditioning Arrives" and "Trip (Winter)"—will air starting December 9th in the Kanto region and parts of eastern Japan. Saitō plays the mysterious man "Zekkuchō," who transforms by wearing an orange "Z Mask" to bring comfort to homes and daily life.
His appearance exudes a Latin vibe with an enigmatic aura, but his character is actually a big pun lover with a tendency to daydream. In the commercials, he fully embraces this personality, promoting the new system with lines like "Not in top form? Try Z Air Conditioning." Saitō, who was also involved in developing the character, joked, "I made sure to remember this isn't a hero show, it's an air conditioning commercial," and added, "Shooting was fun; it was a creative set where we sometimes went beyond the script."
Following the talk segment, five housewives appeared to consult Saito about their home troubles.
To concerns like "My feet get cold on the hardwood floors in winter," "Electricity bills are high in summer and winter," and "I'm troubled by condensation in the house and bathroom humidity," Saito offered one-shot solutions while highlighting the features of Z Air Conditioning.
"Rest assured, we'll protect your daily life!" he declared, showcasing the Z-Kucho spirit. He added, "I'm happy to witness the birth of this new system. I want to spread it throughout the world."
