Colantotte, the manufacturer and seller of magnetic health gear "Colantotte," held a new service launch event on January 11th at Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.
The "CSS (Colantotte Safety System)", launched that same day, is a service developed to protect loved ones from becoming unidentified in the event of an accident, disaster, or sudden illness. By wearing a pendant engraved with the CSS Management Center's toll-free phone number and a unique user ID, identity verification becomes possible even if the wearer becomes unconscious.
While the pendant functions as a magnetic health necklace, it lacks GPS capabilities. The CSS Management Center, upon receiving a phone call from someone who discovered the victim (policyholder) or from police, contacts pre-registered family members or workplaces. This simple system eliminates concerns about battery depletion or malfunction, making it effective for identity verification during disasters.
Furthermore, it includes damage insurance provided in partnership with Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance. This means that upon applying for the CSS service, users automatically receive damage insurance coverage.
Korantotte President Katsumi Komatsu mentioned that news of an elderly Tokyo resident who went missing and was later identified seven years later in Gunma Prefecture after being found inspired the service's development. "The thought of not knowing whether my own parent was alive or dead for seven years would be unbearable. Since Korantotte is something you wear, I wondered what we could do and that led to its development," he stated.
Koichi Takano, Managing Executive Officer of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, a partner in the service, stated, "In recent years, sudden disasters and accidents have become frequent. There are also cases where individuals become unidentified due to wandering caused by dementia, and confirming their identity takes time. We want to back Corantotte's passionate challenge to solve these social issues by providing insurance products."

Figure skater Shoma Uno, who has an advisory contract with Colantotte, shared a video message: "I've been using Colantotte products for a long time and wear them during competitions. CSS helps you stay healthy while wearing it, and in the event of an emergency, its identity verification service ensures your family can be notified quickly. I believe it's a service that will be useful in society going forward. It's a system that can also help during accidents while playing sports, so I hope people can enjoy going out and playing sports with peace of mind."
