Dentsu Inc. Launches Continuous Delivery Service for Real-Time Data-Linked Digital Signage
― Content tailored based on weather, temperature, time, and location information ―
Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Yamamoto) has partnered with Densan System Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasunori Tanaka) and Cyber Communications Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Akio Niizawa) to launch a real-time digital signage service that dynamically displays content based on real-time data such as weather, temperature, time, and location information. The first implementation will be the "Toei Bus Digital Signage Project," commencing delivery on April 3.
Currently, within the out-of-home (OOH) advertising world, the digital signage market is growing. Traditionally, signage typically displayed pre-submitted data during predetermined periods. However, the newly adopted signage platform utilizes Google Cloud technology and similar solutions to enable dynamic ad targeting based on current weather, temperature, minute-by-minute time, and location data. This capability to display messages tailored to the surrounding environment allows for more relevant information delivery to the audience.
For example, weather/temperature/time-based delivery can show ads for cold products when temperatures exceed a preset threshold, or warm products when temperatures fall below it, delivering ads perfectly matched to current conditions. Location-based delivery enables advertising around event areas or different content appeals tailored to specific zones.
Moving forward, we will continue to actively promote new initiatives in dynamic digital OOH within Japan.
