NTN, a precision equipment manufacturer whose core product is bearings, began airing its new TV commercial "How Smooth NTN #01 Encounter" on April 1.
Marking its 100th anniversary, the company developed the communication phrase "Work that makes the world smoother." and the catchphrase "How smooth." These themes will guide its PR and advertising activities. The catchphrase plays on the initials of the company name (NTN) and the mission of bearings.
Actress Mikako Tabe stars in the commercial. Tabe encounters a smoothly moving music box doll in a town antique shop, her eyes drawn to it. The doll's movements become increasingly fluid, almost reaching human-like levels. Tabe unconsciously mimics the doll's movements, only to be spotted by a passing girl, leaving her slightly embarrassed. The doll symbolizes the company's work to make the world smoother.
