Dentsu Inc.Reaches Agreement to Acquire 100% Stakein Leading Turkish Digital Agency SesliHarfler
Dentsu Aegis Network, the overseas headquarters of Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshihiro Yamamoto; Capital: ¥74,609,810,000), has reached an agreement with the shareholders of SesliHarfler Reklam Tanıtım ve Yayın Hizmetleri Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Headquarters: Istanbul; Founder & CEO: Özgür Karaçak; hereinafter "SesliHarfler") to acquire 100% of its shares. CEO: Özgür Karaçak, hereinafter "SesliHarfler") in Turkey.
Founded in 2006, SesliHarfler provides comprehensive digital communication services, including brand strategy development and social media. It has grown to employ 45 digital specialists and is now among the top group of independent digital agencies in Turkey. Its growth has been driven by its renowned creative strength, earning numerous advertising awards both within Turkey and internationally. The company also excels in efficiently executing campaigns, serving local and multinational companies across diverse sectors including consumer goods, industrial products, and finance.
Turkey is characterized by a high adoption of digital tools, with half the population under 30 and 25% under 14. Approximately 48 million people use the internet, with 42 million monthly Facebook users and 16 million monthly Instagram users. Against this backdrop, digital advertising expenditure in Turkey is growing at an annual rate of 15-20%. We determined that this acquisition is essential to our Group's digital strategy in the region.
Following the share acquisition, we will integrate SesliHarfler into the Isobar network. Isobar is one of our Group's 10 global network brands*2 providing services in the digital domain. The brand name will be changed to "SesliHarfler - Linked by Isobar." By fostering collaboration with other Group companies, we will accelerate our growth strategy in Turkey.
The impact of this transaction on the Group's consolidated results for the fiscal year ending December 2017 is expected to be immaterial.
