JARO Launches New Comical TV Commercial

The Japan Advertising Review Organization (JARO) launched new TV and radio commercials on June 1st. It revived the catchphrase "False, exaggerated, misleading" for the first time since 1992. Three mascot characters—a lying rabbit ("Usopyon"), an exaggerating tuna ("Kodai"), and a misleading eagle ("Magirawashi")—dance comically in animation, urging viewers: "If you spot them in an ad, contact JARO."

Many people still say, "I've heard of JARO, but I don't know what they do." The commercials aim to raise awareness of their activities. They are being broadcast on member media outlets nationwide.

There are two 15-second TV commercials, six 30-second TV commercials, two 20-second radio commercials, and three 40-second radio commercials, all viewable on the website.
