Dentsu Inc. will launch the manga magazine "MANGAPOLO ZERO" next spring as a playlist within the official YouTube channel "MANGAPOLO." The channel will host an open manga artist audition. Submitted works, from both professionals and amateurs, will be judged by active manga artists based on reader feedback. Selected members will then serialize new manga works. The grand prize winner will receive a cash award of 1 million yen.

The first audition will be co-hosted with Nihon Bungeisha, featuring judges Yoichi Takahashi (Captain Tsubasa, Pride), Yoshihiro Takahashi (Ginga Densetsu WEED Orion), and Hosoki Razwell (Sake no Hosomichi). The submission period runs from December 11, 2013, to the end of March 2014.
"MANGAPOLO" is a project themed around "Discover New Manga," aiming to create encounters between manga and readers. In February 2013, it launched the "MANGAPOLO" manga channel on YouTube, collaborating with multiple publishers to distribute primarily popular existing manga titles. It has gained support not only from manga enthusiasts but also from those who had drifted away from manga, amassing approximately 47,000 channel subscribers and increasing view counts.
Submitted works will be published on the MANGAPOLO channel. A rigorous judging process will be conducted by a panel of judges, using view counts and audience response as reference points. By adopting an open audition format, the project aims to generate attention even before serialization begins.
