Kikkoman, an Official Partner of Tokyo 2020, released the second installment of its web video series, "Karate Lessons Even a Bear Can Understand: Kumite Edition," on October 28, 1000 days before the Olympic opening. Featuring Japanese national team athlete Ryutaro Araga alongside Kikkoman's meat seasoning character "Yakini-kuma" (Grill Bear), the video introduces four techniques from karate kumite.
Having learned "Kata" with athlete Kiyo Shimizu in the first video, "Yakinikuma" now experiences four kumite techniques: "Upper Punch," "Middle Kick," "Upper Roundhouse Kick," and "Punch After Knocking Down the Opponent." Through Araga's sharp techniques, the video delivers a "full-body" introduction to the power of karate.
Additionally, coinciding with the video release, the "Burn! 2020! Yakikuma Dojo 6-Second Video" series of seven videos is available on a special website. Fans can enjoy a new side of Araga, seen only here, including comical interactions with "Yakikuma."
