"Jack of all trades, master of none." It's a cautionary saying heard around the world. But I see it a little differently.
A "jack-of-all-trades" is someone who keeps doing different things. They get criticized for "never becoming an expert in anything" because they spread their energy too thin. But the strength of a jack-of-all-trades lies in constantly trying new things. They go anywhere with ease. They don't just observe things as if they were someone else's problem; they try things themselves and learn from experience. They're overflowing with curiosity.
I've been a "jack-of-all-trades" for years now. My areas of interest include traditional art, tattooing, entrepreneurship, volunteering, electronics and mechanical engineering (on a small scale), and so on. Why should creativity be confined to art, copywriting, or existing art forms? It's a realm where science, math, politics, society, nature, travel, and everything else blend together. That unknown blend is what I consider creativity.
Since entering the creative industry, many people have offered advice. Strangely, it's always the same: "Sit at your desk endlessly and think tirelessly" (though I don't quite see it that way). To keep creativity flowing freely, I love escaping the office. I take interest in what people are doing, strike up conversations, learn things I didn't know, and try them out. I venture a little into places I've avoided out of fear.
Then I circle back to my desk. I jot down whatever comes to mind on paper or the screen. Hey, surprise! It's completely different from the idea I started with! It feels great, like I've become a flexible bridge connecting all kinds of people.
If I try out each thing that catches my interest, I'm sure I'll find my path. I just need to transform the knowledge and insights gained from experience into "something new." By continuously doing "something new," I can become a "jack-of-all-trades" who creates answers—something different from being a jack-of-all-trades. Somehow, that's how it feels to me.

An art piece I found at Berlin's strange museum, "Design Panoptikum." It perfectly matches my image of a "jack-of-all-trades"! It's by the owner and artist, Vlad Korneev.
