Starting June 11, "radiko"—which lets users easily listen to radio programs from across Japan via PC or smartphone—began streaming a 60-second promotional video titled "Sound of Radio Stations." This video mashes up logos and jingles from all 92 commercial radio stations nationwide.
The video blends each station's jingle with an original track, creating a cohesive musical piece. When a station's jingle plays, its logo appears on screen.
This effort embodies the desire to make as many young people as possible aware of Radiko's existence.
Three video versions exist. In addition to the 60-second full version, the "Time-Free" and "Area-Free" editions promote Radiko's core services with messages like "Listen to radio programs from stations nationwide for free on your smartphone!" and "Unlimited access to radio programs from all over Japan!"
The message is "Sound expands your world."
This combines the most easily recognizable element of radio with the unique "sound" of jingles from radio stations nationwide. It's a PV you'll want to listen to again and again.
Listening while searching for the jingle of your local radio station adds to the enjoyment.
The video is available on YouTube (URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO_Dw4gsUQI ) and digital signage in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka.
Advertisements featuring the video motif were also displayed in these three cities.
