Agreement Reached to Acquire 100% of Shares in Major Media Agency Aaron Lloyd
Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshihiro Yamamoto; Capital: ¥74,609.81 million) has reached an agreement with the shareholders of Aaron Lloyd Group (Headquarters: Moscow, President: Yury Krestinsky, CEO: Yury Ulyashev, hereinafter "Aaron Lloyd"), a major Russian media agency, to acquire 100% of its shares through its overseas headquarters, Dentsu Inc. (Dentsu Aegis Network (※)).
Established in 1999, Aaron Lloyd Group has grown as a specialized pharmaceutical media agency in Russia. It currently employs 57 specialists in pharmaceutical and healthcare advertising, providing comprehensive media services to numerous client companies.
The Russian advertising market achieved double-digit growth in 2017, with strong growth also projected for 2018. By industry, pharmaceuticals represent the largest advertising spend (Dentsu Aegis Network Global Ad Expenditure Report - July 2018). Through this acquisition, the Group aims to strengthen its pharmaceutical and healthcare advertising services in Russia, expand its business scale and market share, and accelerate its growth strategy in the country.
The impact of this transaction on the Group's consolidated results for the fiscal year ending December 2018 is expected to be minimal.
