Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Yamamoto) announced that its Kyoto Business Acceleration Center (※1) (hereinafter Kyoto BAC) invited the Royal College of Art (RCA) (Location: London, UK; President: Jonathan Ive; hereinafter "RCA") to hold the "Innovation Masterclass in Kyoto," a workshop for new business ideation, at Kyoto University of the Arts in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City.
The RCA, a national art university in London, UK, is the world's only graduate school of art that awards master's and doctoral degrees. It has been ranked number one globally in the Art & Design category of the QS World University Rankings(※2) for five consecutive years since 2015. Leveraging its expertise as a top school in art and design, the RCA's corporate training programs are highly popular courses that attract executives from global companies who travel to the UK to attend. This workshop marks the first time RCA has conducted a standalone training program in Japan.
Participants will be recruited from diverse companies seeking to engage in open innovation. Over two days, facilitated by the RCA, the workshop will focus on open innovation across industries to generate new business ideas. Kyoto BAC will provide ongoing support to explore commercialization of ideas developed during the workshop.
