[Recruitment Notice] "Shovel School" Nurturing Children's Sensitivity and Expressive Skills Autumn Class: Shiodome - Now Accepting Applications

SCHOP SCHOOL (Organizer: SCHOP SCHOOL Executive Committee; Planning & Operation: EduSol, The University of Tokyo Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology "ROCKET Project for Discovering Exceptional Talents", follow your MUSE; Cooperation: MIT STUDIO, Math Girls, ifs Future Research Institute, and Yama-Sakura) is recruiting participants for its "Autumn Class Shiodome," held every Sunday in September and October (5 sessions total) at the headquarters building of Dentsu Inc. in Shiodome, Tokyo (applications accepted until August 5).
This marks the second iteration of the Autumn Class, following the "Summer Class Aoyama" held in July-August 2019.
The catchphrase is "A place where you can dig into your curiosity, endlessly."

The Autumn Class offers four courses: "Introduction to Game Design" (by Kodomo Game Creators), "Introduction to My Robot" (by HELLO!STEAM), "Animated Picture Book Programming" (by Programming Lab), and "Parent-Child Product Development" (by Shiodome Kodomo Advertising Agency). Each course consists of five sessions.
Like the Summer Class, it's packed with engaging courses designed to nurture creativity and expressive skills.
Participants must be elementary school students in grades 1 through 6, depending on the course. Each course has a capacity of 8 to 12 students, and if there are more applicants than spots, participants will be selected by lottery.
The participation fee is ¥10,000 (excluding tax) per course (all 5 sessions).

The school poses the question: "What skills will children need to live happily alongside AI in a future where society's form and structure differ greatly from today? How can they acquire these skills?"
In response, it states: "The abilities needed for the 'next society' called Society 5.0 are sensitivity, curiosity, a spirit of inquiry, and the ability to leap forward*. We believe these are not learned through instruction but must be unearthed and nurtured from within oneself. For children, what matters most is becoming engrossed in what they love and discovering the joy of trying something new."
