Minato Ward and Dentsu Solari Inc. Collaborate on Sales of Vegetables Grown by People with Disabilities

Minato City, Tokyo, and Dentsu Solari Inc. have launched a new collaborative initiative between the ward and a company for employing people with disabilities. Starting in October, vegetables cultivated by Solari employees are being sold at the welfare shop "Hanamizuki" on the first floor of the ward office.
Dentsu Solari Inc., a special subsidiary of Dentsu Inc. established in 2013, aims to create opportunities for employees with disabilities to fully utilize their abilities and thrive, fostering mutual growth between employees and the company.

The vegetables are grown entirely by hand, from cultivation to harvest, using organic fertilizer at the company's own farm, "Farm Sorari," located in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, by employees with disabilities. The first offering is edamame, with plans to sell seasonal vegetables going forward.
The farm is reportedly the most popular workplace among employees. Upon arriving, employees find tasks without needing instructions, call out to each other, and work with vitality. This collaboration focuses on how agriculture positively impacts the physical and mental well-being of people with disabilities and supports sustainable employment.

Moving forward, both parties plan to pioneer new possibilities for employing people with disabilities. This includes implementing one-day work experience classes for students from special needs schools and special support classes within the ward.
