Meiji, a Tokyo 2020 Games Gold Partner, announced on February 3 that it will participate in the "Tokyo 2020 Everyone's Escort Kids Project" hosted by the Games Organizing Committee. The company will recruit participants for a total of seven courses offering the experience of being an escort kid for athlete entrances at the Games.
This project aims to provide children, who represent the future, with an opportunity to participate in the Games, hoping it will spark their interest in sports.
Applications are open from the same day until March 13th. They are seeking a total of 150 pairs (300 people; one child and one guardian per pair) to serve as escort kids for three Olympic sports (soccer, hockey, tennis) and two Paralympic sports (futsal, goalball).
Applicants must be elementary school students (grades 1-6) residing in Japan during the Games period. Participants will be able to watch the matches before and after their escort duties and will receive an original uniform.
The company previously recruited participants (until January 31) for the 2-night, 3-day "meiji Dream Kids for TOKYO 2020" program ( https://dentsu-ho.com/articles/6931 ), which combines stadium viewing with special experience programs, and reported a significant response.
