"docomo Student Discount" Releases "Kanna and Minami's Graduation" – An "Emo" Web Video Like a Graduation Album

NTT DOCOMO released the web video " Kanna and Minami's Graduation " (approx. 3 minutes) for its "docomo Student Discount" plan, which supports first-time smartphone users aged 25 and under, on the official DOCOMO YouTube channel on February 21.

The video features Kanna Hashimoto and Minami Hamabe, who have previously appeared together in the company's TV commercials. Using footage the two accumulated on their smartphones—capturing moments like cultural festivals, school trips, entrance exams, as well as everyday scenes during breaks and commutes—the video weaves together an emotional "graduation album" reflecting on their three years of high school filled with memories.
The background music is "I Call It Love" by Mafumafu, who enjoys immense popularity among teens. The song was written specifically for this video, adding poignancy to the scenes of the two graduates.

Coinciding with the video's release, the company launched the Twitter campaign "Kanna and Minami's Graduation Project" on the same day. Users are invited to submit videos or images of their own high school memories, which will be compiled into a music video. Submissions tagged with "#3MillionHighSchoolStudentsMostEmo" will be edited into a single video, similar to "Kanna and Minami's Graduation." The song used will be the same as in the web video.
