"SUNTORY Iron Boss" Web Video Alien Jones Takes Different Action (Full Version & Making-of Video Available)
Suntory Beverage & Food Limited launched the new energy drink "Suntory Iron Boss" on March 17 and released the web video "Alien Jones: Not Like Us" (30-second and 60-second versions) on the official Suntory YouTube channel.
This product is the first energy drink from the "Boss" brand, formulated with GABA for people in their 30s and 40s working in a stressful society.
The video, the latest installment in the "Earth Investigation Series" featuring Alien Jones, stars Tommy Lee Jones and actor Kenichi Takito.
The video is set in an office. Jones, an employee who is running late for a meeting with a client, rushes out while being seen off by his colleague, Takito.
Suddenly, he smashes through a building window, landing gracefully from the upper floor. He immediately clings to the roof of a passing taxi, and even when shaken off, he latches on like a surfer. Arriving at his destination, he scales the skyscraper's wall and crashes through the conference room wall. Facing stunned clients, Jones calmly distributes his materials.
Inspired by the superhero-like action, Takito-san gulped down Iron Boss.
The new energy drink's birth was expressed with the tagline: "For when coffee just won't cut it."
In a post-shoot interview, Jones commented to viewers, "Keep working hard. But please, never jump out of a window like this alien Jones did (laughs)."
Reflecting on working with Jones, Takito said, "Just meeting him felt like a miracle, like a dream. I was very nervous, but he has such a wonderful smile." Regarding the energy drink, he added, "It's indispensable for tough shoots. I think the video is stylish and cool too. I hope people drink Iron Boss and feel energized."
