SoftBank began airing its new TV commercial for the first 5G iPhone, titled "The Future Starts Now," on October 23.
In July 2020, the company collaborated with the nationally beloved artist group Arashi. Under the theme "Together, to a world no one has seen," they launched a project challenging new entertainment in the 5G era. This commercial is the latest installment.

At "FR SQUARE," users can enjoy the long version of Arashi's new song "Party Starters," featured in the commercial, along with an original dance exclusive to this space.
In "VR SQUARE," users become the captain of a cruise ship and experience "An Adventure with Arashi," touring the world in 3D.
Furthermore, by scanning the QR codes on Arashi members' advertisements appearing in the morning editions of five major national newspapers on the same day and holding the entire newspaper up to the "AR SQUARE" app, a special message and audio from Arashi will appear. Scanning multiple newspapers in sequence triggers conversations between members, with the dialogue changing depending on the number of newspapers scanned.
The commercial's setting is September 15, 1999, during Arashi's debut press conference aboard a cruise ship off Honolulu, Hawaii. After the interview, all members gaze at the endless blue sea. Sho Sakurai, as he was at the time of their debut, murmurs, "This is it... for us." Responding to this, the other four members, having taken their first step, also say "This is it," their faces beaming.
Watching this fresh-faced debut scene nostalgically from another ship are the current Arashi members. Jun Matsumoto murmurs, "This is it... for us too," and the other four repeat, "This is it." Suddenly, the debut-era Arashi turns to face the present-day members, smiles, and says, "Right?" leaving the current members completely dumbfounded.
Next, a shot of the Shiroto family's father, styled as a ship's captain, steering the ship while calling out, "This is just the beginning." This is followed by the title: "Together, to a world no one has ever seen." Finally, the current Arashi members, with their arms around each other's shoulders, pose directly for the camera, stating: "To a new world, with the first 5G iPhone."
