Mr. Akio Mimura Appointed Chairman of the Advertising Dentsu Inc. Award Council

Mr. Akio Mimura, Honorary Chairman of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, assumed the position of 10th Chairman of the Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards Council effective April 1.

The Dentsu Inc. Advertising Awards, established in December 1947, are Japan's oldest comprehensive advertising awards. By honoring advertisers who have implemented outstanding advertising communication, they aim to broaden the paths for advertisers to solve their challenges and contribute to the development of Japan's industry, economy, and culture.

The award is administered by the public body, the Dentsu Advertising Awards Council. All advertisers are eligible to apply, regardless of their handling advertising agency or production company. Selection is conducted by the Dentsu Advertising Awards Council's selection committee, comprising approximately 500 members including advertisers, media companies, creators, and experts. While numerous advertising awards exist in Japan and around the world, few organize such a large selection committee or cover such a broad range of fields. It is highly regarded as the representative advertising award of Japan's advertising industry.

This year marks the 77th edition. The application deadline was April 1st, and the council secretariat is now preparing for the selection process.
