Dentsu Group's Nine Domestic Companies Launch "Industrial Symbiosis Coordination" Service to Support B2B Companies' Implementation of the Circular Economy and Regional Economic Revitalization

Nine domestic Dentsu Group companies (※1) will begin offering "Industrial Symbiosis Coordination" to support the circular economy for businesses and local communities. This service supports the implementation of a circular economy and corporate growth by matching B2B companies with businesses in different industries that can mutually utilize the waste and byproducts generated by those B2B companies as resources. Furthermore, by matching geographically close companies within these different industries, it also aims to revitalize the regional economy.

While many companies have adopted circular economy transition as a management strategy, they face challenges in advancing concrete business implementation. Meanwhile, the B2B sector holds a key role in realizing a circular society, as it involves the circulation of large volumes of resources and the establishment of long-term, stable business relationships between companies. This service leverages the unique structure of the B2B sector, focusing on "Industrial Symbiosis" (※2). This approach facilitates the mutual utilization of resources like waste and byproducts through collaboration between geographically proximate companies in different industries. Industrial Symbiosis not only reduces environmental impact and cuts costs but also serves as a foundation for regional open innovation by integrating the knowledge and technologies of participating companies. It is a mechanism that accelerates the transition to a circular economy while also contributing to realizing growth opportunities for companies and revitalizing the regional economy.
