On June 24, 2014, "JAPANESE RESTAURANT WEEK" launched in Brazil to raise awareness of Japanese cuisine. This program is held in conjunction with the "JAPAN OMOTENASHI PAVILION" (*1) at Parque da Bola in Rio de Janeiro, running for one month from June 12. (Organized by the JAPAN PRESENTATION 2014 Executive Committee) held at Parque da Bola in Rio de Janeiro from June 12th. From June 24th to July 13th, 30 Japanese restaurants in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and other cities will promote a deeper understanding of Japanese culture through various special Japanese dishes and programs.

At the opening ceremony held at the JAPAN OMOTENASHI PAVILION on the first day, Vice Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Yoshikawa Takamori and others performed a Japanese-style sake barrel opening ceremony. The 150 guests who visited the venue enjoyed Japanese cuisine and sake. Following this, popular creator Hachioji P performed a VOCALOID live show on the main stage, drawing a crowd of young Rio residents passionate about Japanese otaku culture who were enthralled by the performance.
