Matsuko-san is a huge fan of the "Second Generation Kid Store Manager"!
Toyota Marketing Japan launched a sales promotion campaign titled "The Sales Promotion!" at Toyota dealerships nationwide starting September 1 (running until November 30). The campaign character, the "2nd Generation Kid Store Manager," features Kiyoshiro Kato, the younger brother of the first Kid Store Manager, Seishiro Kato. A new TV commercial featuring him began airing the same day.
On August 31st, the day before the campaign launch, a PR event was held at the Tokyo International Forum in Chiyoda Ward. Appearing on stage were Matsuko Deluxe, who stars in the commercial, and Kenshiro-kun. The "Lecture," "Stamp," and "Cashback" episodes were screened, along with the "Triple Assist" episode set to air starting September 8th. Centered around Matsuko as the charismatic saleswoman and Kenshiro as the store manager, the campaign features familiar residents of "Toyotown" and members of AKB48 Team 8. It comically conveys the campaign's message. The original child store manager, Kiyoshiro Kato, also makes an appearance.
Matsuko immediately joked, "I bet the production team had a hard time handling me after casting me," then expressed her affection for Kenshiro, saying, "The store manager is so adorable, I desperately want a child." Kenshiro shared his first impression of Matsuko: "She's huge~," adding, "My brother is supporting me too, so I'll do my best not to be outdone by the first one."
Just like in the commercial scene, the two wrote messages on placards and displayed them. Matsuko appealed, "Just come and see for yourself. Toyota dealerships," while Kenshiro urged, "Head to Toyota dealerships!"
The campaign offers LINE stickers featuring the commercial cast, cashback when ordering a car navigation system with a new car purchase, and initiatives to make owning a new car more accessible.
