The "Japan Magazine Advertising Awards" Winners Announced

On September 17, the Japan Magazine Advertising Association announced the results of the 57th Japan Magazine Advertising Awards (sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry). The top prize, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award, went to Panasonic's portable bidet "Handy Towel Slim." Panasonic also won the Grand Prize, awarded to advertisers demonstrating outstanding achievements, including the number of awards received.

From 4,307 entries submitted by member publishers, a selection committee of creative experts narrowed the field to 321 entries. The judging panel consisted of nine members: Chairman Keisuke Nagatomo (Art Director, Illustrator), Professor Naoto Onzou of Waseda University's School of Commerce, Copywriter Masayoshi Tanigawa, and Actress Misako Konno. Fifteen Gold Awards and sixteen Silver Awards were selected, and from among the winning entries, one Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award was chosen.

The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award-winning entry by Panasonic centered its design around the catchphrase "The World Wipe Expo." It introduced various global toilet cultures using visuals like ropes, bamboo spatulas, and leaves. It was highly praised for its well-balanced copy and design, its ingenious approach to prolonging contact time, and its elegant communication achieved through skillful design using diverse materials.
