The 3rd Dentsu Inc. Design Summer School Students' Passionate Summer of Learning, Thinking, and Creating
Dentsu Inc. held its third 'Dentsu Design Summer School' for design students from August 13-15, 18, 19, 30, and September 6 at venues including the Dentsu Inc. headquarters building in Shiodome, Tokyo. Instructors included Dentsu Inc.'s Creative Directors, Art Directors, and other professionals active on the front lines of advertising production. Sixteen students immersed themselves in learning "how to use design" and dedicated themselves to creative activities.

Students who completed the program shared feedback such as: "It was a summer where I got as passionate and serious as a Koshien baseball player," "It was the first school where I was so exhausted and frustrated I couldn't sleep, yet I was so absorbed and happy it was the most fun ever," and "I felt like I struggled more than ever before in my life, but with the instructors' guidance, I feel I grew tremendously." "The instructors were simply incredible." "Constantly facing design head-on with full effort, competing and sharpening skills with peers—it was an incredibly intense experience."

The graduation project theme was 'Develop an Original Character.' Students packed their ingenious creations into capsules, producing one capsule toy per person. These were installed at Dentsu Inc.'s entrance, delighting visitors and employees alike. |
|
Inside the capsule toys. Sixteen unique personalities emerged. The system, where you purchase a work by turning the lever for 100 yen per play, also served as a popularity contest where sales competed. |
■The final day overflowing with emotion
