Dents u Sports Asia, an overseas subsidiary of Dentsu Inc ., has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Phnom Penh Crown FC (hereinafter "Phnom Penh Crown FC"), a leading soccer club in Cambodia.
Founded in 2001, Phnom Penh Crown FC is a powerhouse team that has won the Cambodian League five times (2002, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014). The club's owner, Mr. Rithy Samnang (and his family), is known for engaging in various businesses such as beverage wholesale and casino resorts. In the soccer sphere, he operates soccer cafes and publishes soccer magazines, working to boost soccer's popularity in Cambodia.
The purpose of this strategic partnership is to leverage soccer content—a popular sport in Cambodia, a country experiencing remarkable economic growth—to support the enhancement and establishment of brand recognition and strength for companies and organizations, both Japanese and non-Japanese, within the country.
Furthermore, Phnom Penh Crown FC operates its own youth development program. This makes the team a crucial intermediary for companies and organizations seeking effective and efficient communication with local residents, regardless of gender or age.
Furthermore, Dentsu Inc. has a proven track record of contributing to the success of the Hun Sen Cup, hosted by the Cambodian Football Federation in March 2014. Dentsu Inc. established a partnership with the Federation for the tournament's marketing, promoting sponsors and contributing to the event's success.
Moving forward, Dentsu Inc. Sports Asia will promote sponsors aiming to enhance their visibility and brand power ahead of the scheduled March 25, 2015 start of the Cambodian League. Through partnerships with the Cambodian Football Association and Phnom Penh Crown FC, it will also contribute to the further development of Cambodian football.
