The Singapore Marathon, organized by the Singapore Ministry of Community, Youth and Sports and Spectrum Worldwide, was held on December 7. As the country's largest running event, it attracted 58,000 participants—roughly one in every 100 residents. Starting this year, Dentsu Inc. Sports Asia handled program production and distribution.
Events included the full marathon, half marathon, 10km, and the Japan-originated "Ekiden." The winner's prize of US$50,000 went to Kenya's Kenneth Mungaru in the men's division with a time of 2 hours 16 minutes 44 seconds, and Ethiopia's Wakares Amare in the women's division.

TV program production inside the broadcast vehicle
Dentsu Inc. Sports Asia secured exclusive broadcasting rights for television program production and global distribution spanning three years from 2014 to 2016. For this inaugural year, the number of TV cameras was increased by 30% from last year to 18, with enhanced visual production techniques. The program will be distributed not only to Asian but also to European television networks.
