Looking toward 2020. And beyond. Where should Japan aim? What would be desirable? In this year, where the importance of diversity seems increasingly emphasized, I want to start by listening to diverse opinions.
Our featured guests are 15 individuals originally from overseas who now reside in Japan. From both an external and internal perspective on Japan, and through the professional lens of their respective fields, they have expressed insightful and diverse keywords through the art of calligraphy.

The way to avoid failure is different from the way to succeed. ≠ (not equal). Isn't modern Japan more inclined to choose ways to avoid failure over ways to succeed? I believe the way to succeed is better. To achieve that, we need to change a society that cannot tolerate failure. For some reason, it feels like the idea that "you must not fail" is deeply ingrained in the minds of Japanese people. But looking back at Japanese history, many people who failed actually succeeded. It's better to fail early and start over quickly. Failing efficiently is the shortcut to success.
