Dentsu Inc. Agrees to Acquire 51% Stake in Australian Digital Creative Agency Soap Inc.

Dentsu Inc.'s overseas headquarters, Dentsu Aegis Network, announced today that it has reached an agreement with the shareholders of Soap Creative Pty Ltd (hereinafter "Soap"), an agency leading the digital creative field in Australia, to acquire a 51% stake in the company. The agreement also grants the Dentsu Group the option to gradually increase its shareholding and make Soap a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Founded in 2002, Soap is a full-service agency providing one-stop solutions beyond media buying, including digital marketing strategy development (covering social media and mobile), digital advertising creative, and web content production. The company's creativity is highly regarded. In 2013, it was honored as the Mobile Agency of the Year (Smarties Asia Pacific Award) in the Asia-Pacific region and as the Interactive Agency of the Year by Australia's advertising industry magazine 'B&T'. It was also named Digital Agency of the Year by AdNews Australia for three consecutive years.

Following the acquisition, Soap will operate under the digital agency "Isobar," one of the Dentsu Group's global network brands. The company name will be changed to "Soap-Linked by Isobar," and it will collaborate with other Dentsu Group companies operating in Australia.
