Frito-Lay's snack brand Doritos launched "Doritos Rainbows" on September 17th to support the LGBT community, sparking global buzz.
This limited edition product features the rainbow colors symbolizing LGBT support on both the chips and packaging. It can be purchased by donating $10 or more to the "It Gets Better Project," an organization supporting LGBT teens suffering from isolation and prejudice due to bullying.
Frito-Lay's CMO Ram Krishnan stated, "This is the first time a snack brand has supported the LGBT community. Doritos is a brand that champions courageous people. And being true to yourself takes courage above all else."
The brand also supported the LGBT Pride Parade event held in Dallas on September 20. It is encouraging supporters to post photos and videos on social media using the hashtag #bolderandbetter.
