Dentsu Inc. secures exclusive rights to sell global commercial rights for the Copa América 2019, the South American national team soccer championship.

Dentsu Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshihiro Yamamoto; Capital: ¥74,609.81 million) has secured the exclusive global commercial rights sales rights for the "Copa América 2019," the South American national team championship hosted by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) (※). This move further advances Dentsu's sports marketing business, a key strength of the company. The tournament will be held in Brazil from June 14 to July 7, 2019.

The rights include marketing rights (including sponsorship sales), broadcasting rights, licensing rights, game rights, and hospitality rights.

The Copa América, the world's oldest continental championship for national teams, began in 1916. The Brazil tournament will mark its 46th edition. Featuring matches between the powerhouse teams of South American nations, it is a highly anticipated international event. The 2015 tournament in Chile was broadcast in over 100 countries worldwide.
