Dentsu Inc.'s overseas headquarters, Dentsu Aegis Network, has reached an agreement with shareholders of Australian advertising group Oddfellows Holdings Pty Ltd (hereinafter "Oddfellows Holdings") to acquire a 51% stake in the company. The Dentsu Group also holds an option to make Oddfellows Holdings a wholly-owned subsidiary by the end of 2017.
Oddfellows Holdings comprises three companies: the advertising agency Oddfellows Pty Ltd, @odds Pty Ltd specializing in digital communications, and the art and design studio @tack Pty Ltd. It provides integrated advertising communication services encompassing media, digital, strategy, production, CRM, and promotion.
The group possesses strengths in retail business and is highly regarded for its creative capabilities. It has also established collaborative frameworks with local companies in the fields of film, 3D animation, and audio & music.
Previously, the Dentsu Group provided services in Australia through its brand agency, Dentsu Australia, and media agencies under Aegis Media. With the addition of the Oddfellows Group to the Dentsu Group, the aim is to enhance the quality of a broad range of services, particularly in the creative domain, and expand the business.
Oddfellows Holdings will change its name to "Oddfellows/Dentsu Holdings Pty Ltd," and Oddfellows Pty Ltd will change its name to "Oddfellows/Dentsu Pty Ltd."
