Dentsu Inc.'s overseas headquarters, Dentsu Aegis Network, has agreed to acquire 100% of the shares of Polish social media agency Socializer S.A. (Headquarters: Warsaw, hereinafter "Socializer") from its shareholders.
Founded in 2011, Socializer is a venture company that has rapidly grown through innovative services including advertising leveraging social media, app development for social media, and managing corporate fan pages. It now holds a leading position as a social media agency in Poland.
Following the acquisition, the company will be integrated into Isobar Poland, a Polish digital agency. This integration will make Isobar Poland a full-service digital agency with over 350 employees.
Carat, a media communications agency within the Dentsu Aegis Network group, reported in September 2013 that Poland's digital advertising expenditure grew by 9.1% year-on-year in 2012. Growth is projected to continue at around 9% in 2013 and 2014. Within this, social media is expected to see high growth rates: 40.4% in 2012, 26.1% in 2013, and 24.6% in 2014.
