JINS' new working space "Think Lab Shiodome": A series delving into its secrets. In this first installment, our editorial team reports on the overview of "Think Lab Shiodome," based on an interview with Mr. Kazutaka Ichino, Director of Think Lab at JINS Co., Ltd.
The facility is located just down the escalator from the 1st floor entrance of the Dentsu Inc. headquarters building. It is "Think Lab Shiodome," which had its grand opening on February 3rd.
Holding your smartphone up at the entrance reveals a pitch-black space. Guided by the scent of pleasant aromatherapy, you proceed to a small reception area. Beyond it, two types of compact booth clusters await: the "CONCENTRATION BOOTH" and the "IDEATION BOOTH," arranged in three tiers like a stage.
Mr. Inoue points out that the former is designed solely for deepening "logical thinking" while the latter is for deepening "creative thinking," both intended for individual use.
In front of the booths, complimentary drinks (coffee, black tea, green tea, etc.) and warm hand towels infused with original aromas are provided.
Upon entering the booth, warm lighting, the faint sound of a babbling brook and birdsong,
and plants placed throughout the space.

A 96-centimeter-wide desk, partitions meticulously designed to be neither too high nor too low, chairs offering gentle comfort... Mr. Inoue, who leads this project, explains that every element is backed by scientific research.

Inside the CONCENTRATION BOOTH. Everything is designed to help you "immerse" yourself in the task at hand.

Inside the IDEATION BOOTH. A raised space with a comfortable view ensures your thoughts can "unleash."
This series, titled "Workstyle Reform Isn't Just About 'Time'! A 'Concentration' Seminar to Improve 'Quality'," re-edits the content of a lecture by Mr. Kazutaka Inoue of JINS. It unravels the secrets of "concentration" – something modern people tend to lose or have taken away. You're sure to be surprised by Mr. Inoue's eye-opening insights.

A scene from Mr. Inoue's lecture held at the Dentsu Inc. headquarters building on January 30, 2020. He is wearing glasses developed by JINS that collect data on states of 'concentration'. By measuring blink rates, various insights can be gleaned.
