Rikiya Imaizumi

Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1981. Made his commercial directorial debut in 2010 with "Tama no Eiga." Directed numerous romantic films based on his original screenplays, including "Sad Tea," "Two Strangers," and "Goodbye to Boring Days." Won the Best Director Award at the Transylvania International Film Festival in 2013 for "The Cruel Cat." His 2019 film "What Is Love?" became a major hit. That same year, he also released "A Little Night Music," based on a novel by Kotaro Isaka. In 2020, three of his films were released: "mellow," "his," and "On the Street." His latest work is the coming-of-age film "Back Then," scheduled for release in 2021, starring Tori Matsuzaka as a Hello! Project otaku.

Born in 1984 in Tokyo. In 2017, his directorial work "And So We Put Goldfish in the Pool" became the first Japanese film to win the Short Film Grand Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. His awards include the TCC Newcomer Award, OCC Best Newcomer Award, and Cannes Lions Young Lions Film Medalist, among others. Major works include the feature films "WE ARE LITTLE ZOMBIES" and "Death Days," the WOWOW original drama "FM999," the GUCCI short film "Kaguya By Gucci," and the music video for Yōbun Gaku's "FOOL." Also active as a screenwriter and stage director. His latest work, the WOWOW original drama "I'm Dead!" (starring Yūya Yagira), is currently airing.
