Entering its 16th year, the seminar-style program enhances NPO communication skills
Dentsu Inc. and the Japan NPO Center*1 have converted the teaching materials for "Tips for Effective Communication"*2, a program supporting NPO communication skills to expand their activities, into video format and begun offering them online for free.
Dentsu Inc. and the Japan NPO Center established the "NPO Public Relations Enhancement Committee"*3 in 2004, with both organizations playing central roles. Leveraging Dentsu Inc.'s creative capabilities and the Japan NPO Center's network and insights, they developed the "Tips for Effective Communication" program. Since February 2005, workshops for "Tips for Effective Communication" have been conducted nationwide, led by Dentsu Inc. employees and NPO members. Now in its 16th year since the project's inception, the program has been held 155 times, with approximately 5,600 participants (as of March 2020). To make the content accessible to a wider audience, it has been converted into online materials and released free of charge.
Dentsu Inc. has conducted the "Communication Skills" initiative as part of its social contribution activities aimed at enhancing NPOs' public relations capabilities, problem-solving abilities, and organizational strength from a communication perspective. The role of NPOs as key players in solving social issues is growing increasingly important. For NPOs, communication skills are crucial for uniting their organization and expanding their base of supporters and collaborators, yet they are also skills that are often lacking. We hope that "Communication Skills" will serve as a catalyst for further expanding NPO activities and will continue our efforts moving forward.
